Year 6 here. Here’s a pro tip I wish I knew from day 1: Systems don’t necessarily mean some super complex steps to finish a task. Your systems should fit the size of business you’re in. All too often the idea of systems makes people (hi, I’m people) add steps to things that don’t need it. A system could be: If you have an issue call a manager. If a manager isn’t available call the owner. If an owner isn’t available (highly unlikely) close until a solution can be provided and the problem is adequately handled. There’s the system.

Casey: I like to use like, dating apps just to be able to like, screen men, and also to be able to let them know that I am a trans woman. And whenever I was speaking with him I was like, "Oh, like, he's too good to be true, so let me go ahead and just drop this bomb on him *laughing* and see how he takes it." And like, he just took it so well. He was just very like, comforting and compassionate, and I immediately gave him my number and then we just started texting. I still took a while to meet him 'cause it's so scary.
Idris: A couple of months, what?
Casey: *laughing* Like three months.
Idris: She put her boundaries up and I had to respect them. Finally when I got into her presence, after that– I'm here now. I'm not going anywhere.
Casey: We were just kind of just coasting, getting to know one another, and just spending quality time. He didn't even ask me to be his girlfriend. I just heard him on the phone and he said "girlfriend."
Idris: Yeah.
Casey: And I was like,
Idris: Yeah. That– that was...
Casey: I'm your girlfriend now?
Idris: Yeah.
