My goal this weekend was to finish East of Eden and I did it. What a novel. I was very intimidated to read this classic but it was a goal for this year with the adaptation coming out later on; while it took me AWHILE to read (2.5 months, but while reading many other books!), it was so easy to get into and engaging from beginning to end. I will be thinking about these characters and this story for a very long time. Specifically Lee 😭🥹 “And now that you don’t have to be perfect, you can be good.” — may be my favorite book quote of all time. 😭❤️‍🩹
