Join us for Flashpoint.
We invite you to celebrate the MA students’ achievements with us at the Private View on Thursday 20 August, 6.00-8.00pm, at Birmingham School of Art.
The exhibition will then be open 11.00am-5.00pm on Friday 21 August, Saturday 22 August, Monday 24 August and Tuesday 25 August.
Flashpoint is a celebration of the diverse talent and creativity of Birmingham School of Art’s 2026 MA student cohort. The exhibition showcases work from four distinct MA courses: @bcu_ma_fineart Arts & Project Management @maaaeps and @maviscombcu
A flashpoint marks a moment of transformation and possibility. It reflects the value of being part of an interdisciplinary community and the developments and discoveries that take place throughout study. It is a moment to look forward, recognising this exhibition as the beginning of new journeys alongside being a celebration of the practices present in the school.
Flashpoint is the culmination of students’ work at Margaret Street, representing an important moment of visibility for a cohort shaped by the rich creative ecology of both the School of Art and the creative ecologies present in the West Midlands. Working across different media and contexts, this exhibition highlights the importance of inhabiting real spaces and a commitment to showcasing working within the world.
As a staff team, we congratulate this cohort and are excited to see how the 2026 cohort’s work thrives and grows in the future, and for them to remain in conversation with us and inform the School of Art in the future.
