Director Vysakh reposted a reviewer's story about Khalifa, and the note called it a classic case of unfair review bombing and targeted hatred towards Prithviraj Sukumaran! 🎬

The reviewer admitted the film arrived with massive hype but ended up a box office flop, mentioning they had it on their theatre list before finally watching it on OTT. They felt it had every ingredient of a mass masala entertainer, with classy music, editing, and direction, plus the required plot twists, and noted that while it may be a bit old school, there is nothing wrong with that, since unrealistic mass movies deserve a place alongside so-called natural ones. They also expressed sympathy for Vysakh, feeling his efforts went in vain. 💔

Released on August 20, 2026, the makers opted for an aggressive multi-platform streaming route instead of an exclusive deal, splitting rights across Amazon Prime Video, Lionsgate Play, Aha, ManoramaMAX, Simply South, and STARZPLAY to widen its reach across languages and regions. Vysakh sharing that story on his own page suggests he stands with the sentiment, which says a lot about how the film's reception has weighed on the team. ✨
