Mayor Zohran Mamdani delivered a speech at a party for the Democrats in New York City on Election Night, pointing to the millions who stood in lines at the polls Tuesday, guided by "the faith that the future need not be defined by the failures of the past." The mayor was on stage just as AP called the New York governor’s race for Gov. Kathy Hochul. He thanked those who went out to raise awareness and support for the Democrats, and said that they're the reason the party is returning to root principles. "Those who committed themselves to changing our party, and changing who we put first. Thanks to each of you, and so many others, from Bed-Stuy to Belmont, Coney Island to Cambria Heights, we have begun the work of transforming our party and making it belong to working people once again," Mamdani said. 📹 Astra Rincon Montanez 🔊 Tune into 1010 WINS AT 92.3 FM for more local news #newyork #midterms #midtermelections #electionday #electionnight #zohranmamdani #nyc #democraticparty #democrats #kathyhochul #politics #workingclass

Got to cover a piece of history last night as Georgia voters elected Keisha Lance Bottoms governor, making her the first Black woman in the country to hold the office.
In 2013, George Clooney made an extraordinary gesture of gratitude by giving 14 of his closest friends $1 million each. He invited them to his home for dinner, where each discovered a black Tumi suitcase filled with cash. The $14 million gift was Clooney’s way of thanking the people who had supported him long before he became one of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Clooney explained that many of these friends had helped him financially, offered him places to stay and stood by him during difficult periods in his career. He wanted to repay their kindness and acknowledge the important role they had played in his success. The remarkable story became public in 2017 when his friend Rande Gerber revealed what had happened. Clooney later confirmed the gifts, explaining that he had no children at the time and wanted to share his good fortune with the people who had helped him reach that point in life. 💰❤️
