🔥 Who is Muchilott Bhagavathi ? Muchilott Bhagavathi is traditionally portrayed as a powerful female deity, and her Theyyam is known for its striking appearance, elaborate headgear, red-and-white facial makeup, ornaments and intense performance. The traditional story varies somewhat across regions, but a central theme is the honour, suffering and divine transformation of a woman, ultimately becoming a powerful deity. #muchilottubhagavathy #theyyam #theyyamsofmalabar #culture #godsowncountry
Issa Rae really brought “Broken 😹” back after TEN YEARS! 😭😂🎤 The creator and star of Insecure celebrated the HBO series’ 10th anniversary by making her entrance with the unforgettable rap that introduced us to Issa Dee’s hilariously awkward alter ego in the show’s very FIRST episode. 😝 The celebration reunited the cast, crew, writers and approximately 4,000 fans to honor a series that helped reshape how Black friendship ✊🏿 love, careers and the growing pains of adulthood were portrayed on television. From Issa and Molly’s complicated friendship to the Lawrence Hive, Nathan Navy and that INCREDIBLE soundtrack 🤌🏾 Insecure gave us five seasons of laughter, heartbreak, questionable decisions and unforgettable cultural moments. Ten years later, Issa Dee is STILL rapping her problems away. Some things never change. 😂❤️ What’s your favorite Insecure scene or quote of all time? 👀👇🏾 🎥 @jayrellis 🟧✍🏾 @BlackFutureClub | #BlackGeekSquad
