From the BUFF Archives.
Revisiting the stories that have shaped our journey.
Kill the Impostor
One of the standout films screened at BUFF 1.0.
Kill the Impostor is a powerful reflection on creativity, self doubt and the courage it takes to keep creating.
Directed by Adeniyi Joseph Omobulejo (TAJ) and written by Emmanuel Chinedum, the film follows Salama, an acclaimed writer who has not written a book in four years and must confront the inner voice convincing her she has lost her gift.
It is a story that speaks to filmmakers, artists, entrepreneurs and anyone working towards something meaningful. Creating is rarely easy, but this film reminds us that the biggest obstacle is often the one within.
Winner of Best Short Film at the RedWolf Film Festival Awards 2022, Kill the Impostor is an inspiring example of storytelling done with honesty, craft and purpose.
As TAJ puts it,
“Whatever is standing between you and your chance at success is an impostor. Kill it.”
