POSTS STORIES REELS

🎬 Lights set. Camera rolling. And… ACTION!

BUFF Teens started with nothing more than a drafted roadmap and an intense zeal to bring this dream to life—to reach underserved young talents and create a platform where their creativity could thrive.

But then came the challenges. No sponsorships. Multiple unanswered emails. Publicity setbacks, including our Instagram page being taken down repeatedly. Venue challenges. So many obstacles happening all at once.

It was a lot. But we didn’t back down. Not once.

Auditions kicked off, and the TALENTSSSS rolled in! 🔥 Yes, not everyone could get in, but we knew this was only the beginning. We had incredible facilitators and icons pouring knowledge into our teens, and somewhere along the way, our team became family.

And then… WE DID IT! 🎬 BUFF 1.0

But guess what? WE ARE NOT DONE YET!

The BUFF Teens Acting Summer Class is coming! 🎭🎬

Registrations will be opening soon, so keep your eyes peeled. You definitely don’t want to miss this one!

BREAKING OUT has been officially selected to screen at the 20th edition of UNRELEASED.

Breaking Out follows Temi, a gifted film student determined to land the lead role in her final production, only to discover that in an industry obsessed with appearances, her severe acne is judged long before her talent. As auditions approach and quiet cruelty mounts from peers Amara, Bimbo and instructor alike, Temi must decide whether hard work and going for her dream will finally make her visible or erase her altogether.

Our beautiful film is travelling the world, and this month, it’s making a home in Canada. 🇨🇦❤️

Breaking Out was made from a simple hope that someone who has ever felt unseen, judged or not enough might watch Temi and feel a little less alone.

Now, watching the film screen across festivals in Canada at @buff_africa @tinffestival and @afrovisionx , and hearing about the conversations it is starting, has been incredibly special. ❤️

We made the film and perhaps the most beautiful part of it is hearing people say this is the best thing they’ve seen in a while.

Breaking Out continues its festival journey. ❤️

Made with an incredible village.

From the BUFF Archives.
Revisiting the stories that have shaped our journey.

Kill the Impostor

One of the standout films screened at BUFF 1.0.
Kill the Impostor is a powerful reflection on creativity, self doubt and the courage it takes to keep creating.

Directed by Adeniyi Joseph Omobulejo (TAJ) and written by Emmanuel Chinedum, the film follows Salama, an acclaimed writer who has not written a book in four years and must confront the inner voice convincing her she has lost her gift.

It is a story that speaks to filmmakers, artists, entrepreneurs and anyone working towards something meaningful. Creating is rarely easy, but this film reminds us that the biggest obstacle is often the one within.

Winner of Best Short Film at the RedWolf Film Festival Awards 2022, Kill the Impostor is an inspiring example of storytelling done with honesty, craft and purpose.

As TAJ puts it,

“Whatever is standing between you and your chance at success is an impostor. Kill it.”

Have you seen Kill the Impostor? Let us know what stayed with you after watching it.
