This is so Veep-coded LOL. At an Ohio midterm rally on Wednesday, JD Vance spoke in support of MAGA candidates on the ballot as music blared over his speech.

The song, “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On” by Jerry Lee Lewis, was released in 1957 — the same year Lewis notoriously married his first cousin in secret when she was just 13 years old.

Whether the botched audio was a technical malfunction or expert trolling, the gratifying blunder comes just two days after a protester interrupted the vice president at a North Carolina rally, shouting “RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES,” and “GOD BLESS OUR CHILDREN.”

During his speech yesterday, Vance slammed Dr. Amy Acton (D) and backed Vivek Ramaswamy (R) for Ohio governor. Ramaswamy’s campaign is currently facing backlash from both parties for running a political attack ad featuring Acton’s estranged mother. In the ad, Donna Arthur claims Acton lied about her childhood trauma, which involved being sexually abused by her stepfather between the ages of 9 and 12.

In response to the ad, Acton’s campaign released records this week showing Arthur’s husband was indicted by a grand jury for r*ping the candidate when she was 12.

At the rally, Vance stood by Ramaswamy: “I’m a little bit disgusted when I see Republicans across the country who are whining more about that advertisement than they are about what the congressional Democrats and other Democrats want to do to the United States of America.”

So much for the party of family values, huh?
