“In the Blink of an Eye” by Louise Seymour
How does resistance meet pressure?
Why is there surrender in acceptance?
What does it mean to “move on through”?
At the intersection of before and after it can be unrecognisable.
So much can change in the blink of an eye.
Through vision, sound and substance Louise will manifest the push/pull, resistance/surrender between lives lived both past and present and recognise the aching beauty of being alive.
This performance invites you into uncomfortable spaces, quiet truths and a celebration of the human condition.

Multidisciplinary artist, Louise Seymour explores universal truths and mysteries through sound, substance and performance. Guided by themes of connection, awe and change her practice is rooted in the threads that bind and the wonder of being alive. Through immersive spaces and performance Louise blurs the line between reality and dream, past and present all the while offering a glimpse into the great unknown.

Video ID [a video plays with theramin music showing an eye being drawn into a strange grey substance. A sudden smashing glass sound jolts into a hand working through the substance slowly then grabbing and digging through- all the while the substance keeps returning to its original form despite being rolled into a ball… it goes from solid to liquid almost instantly. A black, glass heart is pulled out of the thick, grey substance called oobleck. The final title has white writing on a black background that reads “In The Blink of An Eye - What can change? What is lost? What do we find on the other side? Lyre Room - Burrinja 29.8.26]
