Scenes from London, pt. 1!!!
Straight off the plane and into the arms of one of my favorite places, @smokinggoatbar, for a welcome-back Thai pub dinner of curried crab, barbecued scallops, stir-fried squid with salted duck egg, a show-stopping lacquered pork belly chop and more. Can’t get enough of the place and @insta_alb stays killing it. Had a quick but as-ever stellar meal at @dishoom (and brought back a few souvenirs from their ever evolving pantry/home line). Hoofed it to @boroughmarket to meet up with one of my best friends from high school; she’s been living in Madrid for more than a decade but just happened to be in London at the same time so we made a meal of multiple market vendors, including some of the largest oysters any of us had ever seen, thanks to Scotland and Ireland by way of @shellseekers98. We popped into @blackfriarpub. We walked past @the_globe. We walked by a guy extremely familiar with the birds along the Thames. Went to a punk show at @thegeorgetavern (save the George Tavern), meandered through @oldspitalfieldsmarket, meandered all over the place, got charmed by the institution that is @linastores. So much more to come but here’s a bit for now, and already missing it. (How could I not be??)
