To see ourselves as we want to be, we must see history as it really is.

“The violence was being perpetrated mainly against black men, though—the strangers; and so it didn’t count. But, if a society permits one portion of its citizenry to be menaced or destroyed, then, very soon, no one in that society is safe. The forces thus released in the people can never be held in check, but run their devouring course, destroying the very foundations which it was imagined they would save.”

‘Hallow Award Gala- Franciscan University

One parish. Thousands of prayers. One flame at a time. 🔥

Last night, at the Hallow Awards Gala, I had the joy of accepting the first award of its kind in Hallow’s history, recognizing St. Augustine Catholic Church and Catholic Student Center as the number one parish in participation on the app!

I stood on that stage, but this honor belongs to our whole parish family.

It belongs to the people who make time for God in the middle of a busy day. To our students learning to pray. To families praying together. To those who return to prayer when life is difficult and those quietly discovering that God has never given up on them.

This took years of hard work, a dedicated team, and a community willing to grow closer to Jesus Christ. We believe deeply in Hallow’s mission. By incorporating it into our ministries and formation, we have seen how it strengthens parish life and helps people carry prayer into their homes, their work, and their everyday lives.

To the Hallow team, thank you for helping us make room for God. To my St. Augustine family, thank you for saying yes, again and again. Being your pastor is one of the greatest joys of my life.

Behind every number is a person. Behind every prayer is a story. And at the heart of it all is Jesus Christ.

Let’s keep the flame burning.
