Ooooooh, someone’s upset. 🤭 Meghan and that towering sense of self-importance. 🙄 Dear Private Citizen M: Catherine’s mother-daughter outing wasn’t a message to you. Catherine was spending time with her daughter—not plotting a subtle counterstrike against you. Not every family moment is a royal chess move. And the claim that William and Catherine’s friends are talking to Rob Shitter? Spare us. If that circle were briefing anyone, he’d hardly be first on the list. This has all the hallmarks of projection: imagining that every move the Waleses make revolves around Meghan, when they’re busy getting on with their own lives. Catherine seems content to invest her time and love in her family and her work. That kind of quiet, grounded life doesn’t need to shout for attention. Meghan, by contrast, craves the spotlight, the status and the headlines—and the press is happy to turn every ordinary moment into another invented rivalry. The idea that a mother-and-daughter outing was staged to undermine Meghan is quite the leap. Not every day out is a message, not every headline is a feud, and not every story is about her. Sometimes the spotlight is elsewhere—and that’s the whole story.
