I don’t want a soft life because I’m lazy.
I want a soft life because I’ve been in flight mode since I was a kid.
I learned how to read a room before I learned how to understand myself, and I learned to notice the change in someone’s voice, the look on their face, the energy when they walk through the door.
I learned how to stay small, how to keep the peace, how to prepare for what might go wrong.
And somewhere along the way, survival became my personality. I became strong because I had to be independent, because depending on people didn’t always feel safe.
Hyper-aware because being caught off guard felt dangerous.
So when I say I want a soft life, I want you to understand me. I’m not asking for a life to spend challenging me. I’m saying I’m done living like every day is something I have to survive.
I don’t want chaos disguised as passion. I don’t want anxiety disguised as ambition, and I don’t want relationships that make me question whether I matter.
I want peace that doesn’t have to be earned.
I want love that I don’t have to chase, rest I don’t have to feel guilty for.
Because I’ve spent enough time of my life proving that I can survive hard things.
I know how to survive. I’ve been doing it since I was a kid. Now I wanna know what it feels like to finally feel safe enough to live.
