London City Lionesses have had one of the biggest summers in women’s football, but their story goes far beyond the arrival of Alexia Putellas.

Since Michele Kang took over the club in 2023, LCL have gone from Championship side to WSL newcomers, finishing seventh in their first season in the top flight.
Now, with Putellas joined by the likes of Mary Earps, Mapi Léon, Kadidiatou Diani and Nicole Anyomi, the ambition behind the project is clear.

But with no men’s team to provide an existing fanbase, how will LCL continue to build their community and establish themselves off the pitch?

From attracting some of the biggest names in the game to investing in training facilities and creating a distinct matchday experience, there is plenty happening beyond the football itself.

In our latest article, Eloise Smallbone looks at what we can expect from London City Lionesses this season, and how the club is building for the future.
