Nobody tells you how weird it is to become really good at moving on.
Not because you don’t care.
You care. A LOT.
But at some point you learn that life is going to keep moving with or without your permission.
I learned it as a chef.
Then as a manager.
Now as a CEO.
Sometimes you make beautiful decisions.
Sometimes you make fucking painful ones.
Sometimes you just make the best decision available on a random Tuesday and keep going. 😂
And something fascinating happens:
A week passes.
Then another.
Then another.
And the thing you thought was going to destroy you… becomes something that happened to you.
Not something that is you.
Maybe that’s what resilience actually is.
Not becoming harder.
Not needing anyone.
Not pretending everything is fine.
Just refusing to stop your life while you wait to feel better.
Because movement changes things.
Walk. Work. Create. Cook. Call somebody. Cry. Laugh. Change your mind. Start again.
Just don’t build a home inside the storm.
And please, don’t confuse being good at being alone with not needing people.
Human connection matters.
Especially for those of us who became suspiciously good at saying:
“I’m fine, I’ll figure it out.”
