There is rarely a completely convenient time to choose yourself.
Work does not suddenly stop being busy.
Other people do not stop needing things.
The diary does not politely clear a space and announce: Now you may deal with how you feel.
That is why “later” can quietly become months or years.
You do not need to create a crisis or make a dramatic change.
But you can decide that constantly running on empty, overthinking every decision or feeling unlike yourself deserves your attention too.
Not when everybody else is sorted.
Not when you have earned it by coping for another six months.
Now, because your life belongs to you as well.
