Some songs don't need electricity to send chills down your spine. All they need is a voice, a guitar, and someone capable of turning darkness into something almost sacred. In 2017, Marilyn Manson delivered an extraordinary acoustic performance of “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)”, accompanied by Tyler Bates. Far removed from the industrial aggression and provocative energy of his original version, this interpretation transformed the song into something haunting, intimate, and almost religious. With a stage setting that felt like a dark ceremony, Manson stripped the song of its usual armour. His voice, his presence, and that solitary guitar made every word feel heavier, every silence more uncomfortable. It wasn't simply an acoustic cover. It was a reminder that dreams can become nightmares, that desire often hides fear, and that not everything we chase is worth having. Sometimes, true horror doesn't need to scream. It only needs to whisper. And Marilyn Manson knew exactly how to do it.
Haley Stevens might think she is just giving Dr. Abdul El-Sayed her a** to kiss by endorsing Mike Rogers, but she is also giving her 726K Democratic primary voters the middle finger. This endorsement, out of a bruised ego, is a betrayal of the policies and people she claims to support, and doing this at a Black church is even more insidious. She does not speak for us, because Black folks understand that MAGA must be defeated, period! #reeciecolbertshow
