The Forgotten Pioneers of Urban Desi Music 🇮🇳🇧🇩🇵🇰🇨🇦

One Indian. One Bangladeshi. One Pakistani.
Three artists who came together in Montreal, Canada and helped shape the sound we now call Urban Desi Music.

The Bilz & Kashif — DJ Vicious, Master-D & Kashif — were blending Bhangra, Punjabi music, R&B, Hip-Hop and electronic production long before “Global Desi” became a mainstream sound.

From 2 Step Bhangra to Tera Nasha and Breaking Barriers, their music became an important part of the North American South Asian diaspora.

Their biggest contribution wasn't just the music.
It was the idea that Desi music could be created in the diaspora and still belong on a global stage.

Before the Global Desi wave… they were already building it.
