After battling injury, PV Sindhu has made a strong return to the badminton circuit this season. She ended a four-year wait for a Super 500 or higher-level title by winning the Japan Open.
Sindhu defeated top players such as Han Yue, Chen Yufei and Akane Yamaguchi on her way to the title. It was her biggest trophy since winning the World Championships gold in 2019.
The victory has once again put Sindhu among the top contenders, especially with the World Championships, a major competition, coming up on home soil.
