Feels like it’s been a while since I wrote something.
Not because there was nothing in life worth writing about. There actually is something worth writing a million pages about—and that’s her. My Kanmani.
I used to be way too concerned about writing something that sounded cheesy. But honestly, I don’t care anymore.
This was the one big part of my life I kept private all this while, and I swear, it was the best decision ever. They say, “Keep it private until it’s permanent.” But truthfully, I knew from the very beginning that this was going to be my forever. She is, and she always will be, my everything.
Two random people, who refused to meet even when our friends tried way too hard to make it happen, somehow went from being two strangers to planning a wedding together.
Somewhere along the way, we grew. We changed. We found each other. And we became something beautiful—something worth choosing every single day, and something really worth waking up for.
I had been planning the proposal for months. I actually wanted to do it on our relationship anniversary. Everything was planned. But it didn’t work out that day.
I was devastated. And, perhaps even worse, I had to hide the ring and the ring box for almost a month, waiting for the right moment.
Because I wanted it to be beautiful.
It might sound cliché, but I wanted our proposal pictures to look like they had been taken straight out of a Jane Eyre era—something timeless, almost like a moment that belonged to another century.
And then, finally, it happened.
She had no idea.
She thought we were simply posing for a picture, dressed in medieval-inspired outfits, with the camera positioned perfectly, waiting to capture her looking out over the little lake.
