I hope you’re doing well. 🖤 I’m IRYE, an independent screenwriter and multidisciplinary artist based in South Korea, currently developing my debut feature, In Praise Of Our Ruin, a psychological queer drama / black comedy. I’m hoping to bring the project into UK production and move to the UK in 2027 to develop my work. I’ve been exploring programmes such as MIDPOINT and TorinoFilmLab, as well as the UK Global Screen Fund, but finding the right UK-based producer and development opportunities from South Korea has been challenging. What a lousy show #ManInFull was. And it had a completely unnecessary and graphic scene involving an erect penis. Of course it would never show the deserved equivalent of a spread eagle vagina. Everyone involved is guilty of exploiting penises on screen while censoring and avoiding vaginas/vulvas in past productions. Do better in the future! #EnoughDicks! It's well past time for female genitalia representation on TV and in movies. Break the glass ceiling, end the vagina/vulva taboo and #FreeTheV for #GenitalEquality on screen!
