Feels good to be back in good old Florida ☀️These past two weeks in NYC brought back so many memories. I grew up on Long Island, but the city is where I spent so many years and started my social media career 13 +years ago 🥹

Life in Boca is sooo quiet compared to the nonstop energy of NYC 😂 Two completely different vibes, and I love them both. Florida is home for now, but I’ll be back in New York often for my family fix .. maybe a snow bird… #Florida

| Unanswered Prayers

Shaeraneh Zist

🌿 A poetic way of life

🥀 Sometimes, silence is the loudest prayer.

The highlight: POMELO SALAD (Yum Som-O)

Kub Kao’ Kub Pla (กับข้าว’ กับปลา) definitely knows how to put on a good spread! 😋

Kub Kao’ Kub Pla (กับข้าว’ กับปลา) is part of Thailand’s iBerry Group, that started out with homemade ice cream back in 1999! Today, they've expanded into several restaurant concepts, with Kub Kao’ Kub Pla serving up Thai comfort food and dishes inspired by different regions of Thailand. 🇹🇭 [Google]

Honestly, everything we ordered was good, but the Pomelo Spicy Salad with Crispy Shrimp (ยำส้มโอกุ้งกรอบ) was the biggest surprise for me.

I was never a pomelo fan to begin with, I dont hate it but let's say Pomelo salad wasn’t something I’d even think of trying, -- let alone ordering! However, I’m glad my friend did and I can understand why she loves it! The sweetness wasn’t overwhelming, and the combination of the savoury sauce and crispy shrimp was SHRIMP-ly delightful. 🍤😂

The rest of the table was just as good:
• Crispy Pork Belly with Chilli & Salt (หมูกรอบผัดพริกเกลือ) – Crispy, garlicky and so good. This is a classic fave!

• Tom Kha Gai (ต้มข่าไก่) – Creamy coconut soup with a lovely tang. The perfect flavour balance~

• Thai Fish Cakes (ทอดมันปลา) – Bouncy with a lovely savoury flavour. My must-order everytime I go to a Thai restaurant~

• Pandan Fried Chicken (ไก่ห่อใบเตย) – Juicy chicken with that fragrant pandan aroma. They are so addictive!

• Omelette Rice with Basil Pork (ข้าวไข่ข้นกะเพราหมูสับ) – Comfort food done right, with creamy eggs and fragrant basil pork.

• Omelette Rice with Red Curry (ข้าวไข่ข้นแกงเผ็ด) – Creamy eggs with a rich, flavourful curry sauce.

• Stir-Fried Bitter Gourd with Egg (มะระผัดไข่) – A nice savoury dish to balance out the spread. It's a bit too bland for me 😄

A very satisfying Thai meal, and a little reminder to be adventurous with your food choices. You never know what might surprise you! 😋

What's your top faves Thai food?
