Dogs have an incredible ability to make even the simplest moments entertaining, and sometimes all it takes is a haircut to completely transform their appearance. Depending on the breed, a dog’s fur can grow long enough to cover its eyes, change the shape of its face, and make it look much older than it actually is. Breeds like Schnauzers, Poodles, and Shih Tzus are especially known for dramatic grooming transformations, with some looking almost unrecognizable after a visit to the groomer.

Regular grooming is also important for keeping dogs healthy and comfortable. Brushing helps prevent painful matting, while trimming excess fur can improve visibility and make everyday activities easier. Of course, the funniest part is seeing the before-and-after pictures. One minute your dog looks like he’s been going through a rough divorce, and the next he’s looking like a successful businessman who just got promoted and turned his entire life around. The little red bow tie really completes the transformation. 😭🐶

Alton Brown made me realize a few things. He actually taught us WHY certain parts of the recipe mattered. I mean he also told us we should READ the ENTIRE recipe before starting. I learned about the why with cooking. I actually did what the recipe said because I understood.

I want you to take this thought, now apply it to your orthopedic issues you have now in your 40s and 50s. We do have recipes on how to help your joint pain due to the musculoskeletal syndrome of menopause.

We have recipes for:
•frozen shoulder
•tendinopathy
•mobility routines
•resistance training

All these things you struggle with, we actually already know what to do with it. Most people call these things protocols, I like recipes. It’s like your my best friend and I want to give you my favorite recipes. Now I’m going to explain to you here on social media why we do certain things in our recipes. There are things you can do to feel better during menopause. There are things you can do for treating your symptoms of the musculoskeletal syndrome if menopause. Musculoskeletal issues have a systemic piece, but there is also a mechanical and habit piece. This is where I come in as a physical therapist. So follow me, let’s share some recipes on what to do during menopause.

I went back to the West LA shelter with @joannakrupa to meet more dogs and learn about the challenges rescues and volunteers face in getting dogs fostered and adopted.

On the way in, I met this beautiful dog, Gabriel. @Real Good Rescue stepped up with a foster to get him out of the shelter, but he still needs a forever home and help with his medical (check @realgoodrescue page).

These amazing rescuers taught me about the gift of fostering and just how important it is, especially with so many dogs in California’s overcrowded shelters.

By fostering, you can give a dog a safe, loving place to heal while they wait to be adopted. You’re also helping rescues make room to save more dogs.

You may not be able to commit to adoption, but opening your home temporarily can give a wonderful dog another chance at life.

Please consider fostering or adopting. Visit my website (link in bio) and click ‘Clear The Shelters’ to learn how you can help.
