Hathphool is a hand ornament made of:
Bracelet + Chains + Rings + Centrepiece
The bracelet sits around the wrist, while delicate chains travel across the back of the hand and connect to rings on the fingers.
The centre ornament is traditionally called the “phool”- flower.
FROM ROYAL COURTS
TO BRIDAL HANDS
The Hathphool has a long history across South Asia.
Jewellery historians commonly connect its development in India with Persian and Mughal influences, after which different regions created their own versions.
