I journal a lot. Especially when I am presented with a question that really makes me think. Lately I’ve been thinking about how much midlife gives you a chance to figure out who you are underneath all the things we’ve become responsible for.
*
So, I’m going to start leaving some of the questions I’m journaling about here.
*
Not because I have the answers. Mostly because I believe deep questions, let in new light. They let in an aha we never knew we needed.
*
So, here’s the first one: who am I when no one needs anything from me?
*
Don’t overthink. Just write. And if something surprises you and you’d like to share, come back and comment.

Deep questions letting in new light is the quieter reason journaling works, less about finding answers and more about making room for one to surface. Who someone is when nothing is being asked of them tends to reveal what was actually chosen versus what was simply required. Midlife rarely hands out that clarity, it just finally makes space for it. 🙏
