“Peripheral States”

Part 1 / Amsterdam

A photography series and mixed-media practice by @wiggap

Collected during walks through Amsterdam without a fixed route or subject. I was drawn to what appeared at the edge of attention: passing figures, cyclists, reflections and artificial light.

The camera could not always keep up with what I was seeing. Motion blur, missed focus, digital noise and low light became part of the images rather than mistakes.

Selected photographs were later printed, rescanned and rephotographed moving further away from documentation and closer to memory.
