We don't plan our trips around film locations... but if they pop up it seems churlish not to visit them!

#OnThisDay 1987: When fashion experts Caryn Franklin and Jeff Banks visited a primary school in Worksop, the children were asked to create their own looks. Some thought glamour. Others thought practicality. And at least one young designer made sure they were properly dressed for a spot of apple scrumping.

I set up Sophia’s closet about 10 months ago when she was a little over 2, and it’s honestly been one of my favorite little projects She’s been choosing her own clothes, helping get herself dressed, and following her morning routine without me constantly reminding her what comes next. I wanted to create a space she could actually use independently, not just something that looked cute. Everything is at her level, she has enough choices without getting overwhelmed, and the visual checklist helps her know what to do next. Here’s how we did it: 🤍 IKEA KALLAX– I left out one shelf to create space for hanging clothes. The inserts and bins are also from IKEA. 🤍 Clothing rod & push lights– Both from Amazon. She uses the lights next to her checklist to mark each step as done. 🤍 Visual checklist – The set includes 45 different images that you can adjust to your own routine. We also use these in our leaving-the-house setup! 🤍 Clothing labels - I also created a separate set of 52 smaller labels for organizing clothes, toy bins, and shelves. It’s such a simple setup, but it’s made a big difference in how independently she gets ready every day.
