We don't plan our trips around film locations... but if they pop up it seems churlish not to visit them!

From: The Godfather (Forza d'Agro, Savoca, Fiumefreddo, Sicily), Quantum of Solace (Siena), Lawrence of Arabia (Seville), Gladiator (Val d'Orcia, Tuscany), The Spy Who Loved Me (northern Sardinia), Ocean's 12 (Scopello, Sicily). by @alansmithoz

More from @harsaviationmuseum earlier today. Three generations of Qantas aircraft in the first picture: John Travolta's Boeing 707, Douglas DC-4, and today's new addition, Fokker 100. The Constellation and Boeing 747 are elsewhere on-site. #Qantas #aviation by @alansmithoz

Not often you get the chance to get this close to airside live jet operations: the arrival at @harsaviationmuseum today of the former @qantaslink_australia Fokker 100 VH-NPU Meekatharra. This is HARS' latest addition. Attended by family, friends, fans, volunteers and media. Well done everyone. #asmr #qantas #aviation by @alansmithoz

Memories of Ronda... a lovely spot with plenty of history (which we had not expected). Not though for those of us who suffer from vertigo... #Ronda #Andalucia by @alansmithoz

So excited. I've literally walked in the steps of Peter O'Toole in Lawrence of Arabia, the scene where he arrives back in Cairo and leads Faraj into the officers' club for a glass of lemonade having taken Aqaba in the Arab Revolt.

The Plaza de Espana in Seville was used for the scene.

"Are you taking 'im in there sir?" "Yes I am."

"And where do you think you're going to Mustafa...? "We're thirsty." "Mr Lawrence is it sir?" "Yes." " Are you going to the officers' bar sir?" "Yes."

I was as hot, and nearly as dusty, as O'Toole! #sevilla #lawrenceofarabia by @alansmithoz

In every part of Italy one name appears time and time again. Please stand for the man himself, the catalyst of Italian Unification, Giuseppe Garibaldi. #italy🇮🇹❤️ by @alansmithoz

A selection of cathedral knaves from Italy... and the final picture, the bomb bay of Avro Vulcan XH558, which I visited today. #tuscany #umbria #vulcantotheskytrust by @alansmithoz
