Another major firm pulling out of New York, and this time it is one of the leading affordable housing lenders. This piece from @therealdeal highlights just how much the 2019 rent laws and current climate are making it impossible to run housing in New York.

NYAA is doing a great job providing the information relating to the discussing situation that extremist politicians have created with rent stabilization in NYC. Unfortunately, the politicians don’t care. They have brainwashed the tenants and the working class tenants are suffering and leaving the city. NYAA that represents owners and lenders that are losing money should start taking the legal route to stop this madness.

The only solution is for the Supreme Court to step in and end rent control nationwide.

at 7 - ask about the RS-tenant who maintains a country house, worth over $1 mil in nearby holiday towns...why can they afford the Property Tax there, but not a fair market rent in the city? They must know about building maintenance costs, yet complain and get every NYC benefit free to them, costing their land lady.

And not only that, but forcing the 'free market' apartment rent costs up. There is a direct connection.
