September 28, 2026. I am 66 years old today and feeling a bit retrospective. I’ve always been an artist and creative. It’s in my DNA. I’ve drawn, painted, sculpted and created art for as long as I remember. I was in Vocational Art all through High School, drew comic books professionally all through college ( thanks RAK Graphics). Wanted to move out west and design movies, but was hired right out of college by American Greetings to work on, that’s right, Madballs. After 5 years at AG and about 10 years freelancing, I was hired by Hasbro at 45 years old to to move my family to Rhode Island to work on Star Wars. 5 years later I was back in Cleveland doing Madballs again at American Greetings until around 2014. I left AG at age 54. Around this time I was approached by Lullubell Toy Bodega to create and sculpt the vinyl toy, Rotten Rexx, and I found myself beginning and a whole new career direction, as well as a resurgence. A whole new life in art toys. And at 66 years old, I’ve never been busier! I am so thankful to everyone that has embraced me and my art in this wonderful Designer Toy Community. A whole new world opened up with an incredible community of fellow designers and friends from all over the world. I would tag you all but I don’t want to leave anyone out! And thanks to my wife Tracy and my fantastic family for taking the ride with me, I know it hasn’t always been easy, so I love you all.
