Three months post finishing #chemo. One goes through an almost Benjamin Button metamorphosis- back to babyish ways, and then “growing up” as one regains strength. I’ve gone from needing three hour naps every afternoon, falling into jet-lag like, drooling, surrender-sleeps, to now needing none. From weedy, comb-over hair to being vaguely hirsute ( a million thanks @antheaturner for the space age #currentbodyledmask - forever grateful) From being disinterested in food, I’m now back in the kitchen cooking up a storm. I’ve grown stronger and am moving away from the months I felt depleted and as weak as a baby. And just like early childhood, the days, weeks, months of uncertainty and procedures and bloods and scans take on a less potent and concrete memory. Like childbirth. You remember the end result with the most clarity, and the rest drifts further and further away with time. When I tell someone I’ve got through 4 cancers in 6 years, 38 months of active treatment it’s almost as though I am talking about a familiar stranger. Hope it remains that way! #nonhodgkinslymphoma #breastcancer #aggresivebcelllymphoma
