i mostly play the gong for myself these days ✦ it’s a practice i cherish, especially playing with flumies. i love discovering the sonic boundaries of the gong.
when i play for myself i’m not tuned into anything but me and the gong. when i play for people, i tune into the room. i listen to how the gong plays with the energy of the room. i try to tune into needs and other people’s boundaries.
but when i play alone i get to truly play, to experiment. the gong gets to be a wild thing, a free creature ⟡ what a blessing it is to play.

@blovesacredsound flumies are truly worth the money. i’ve had mine for years and they haven’t dried out or stopped working, unlike many others i’ve tried.
how do you play? ✦
