POSTS STORIES REELS

hello from the misty world of bordeaux where i’m exploring caves and recording the sounds of leaves falling :)

wanted to make a quick post about november’s frequency training, as i have one spot left.
i think of this training as part educational deep dive and part artistic immersion/retreat.

we learn, we play, we create.

early bird price is 500 euro + VAT until nov 1. payment plans are available. cash is also an option.

if you have questions, feel free to write me. more info lives on my website.

my frequency cohorts are some of my favorite things to host. on top of letting me share my special interest in all things sound and instruments, they’re also an experimental way to learn how to create deep listening meditations and build a deeper connection to your own creative relationship with sound.

⚬ ∘ ○

if you have an interest in learning about gongs, crystal bowls, and traditional sound bath instruments, but also want to dig deeper into sound art, deep listening, and experimental composition, this is for you.

my october cohort is sold out, but i’ve added two more sessions for november. you can learn more via the link in my bio. by @frequencywithkimi

✦ blown away by the creativity and expansion in this weekend’s sonic cohort of 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕗𝕣𝕖𝕢𝕦𝕖𝕟𝕔𝕪.

teaching people how to work with sound on a creative, therapeutic and experimental level is one of the greatest muses in my life.

◦ each of these incubators feels so special, expansive and inspiring. every group is so unique and powerful in its innovation and imagination.

◦ some people come in wanting to learn traditional instruments like gongs and bowls. others are expanding their existing practice with electronics and loop machines. time and time again, each person’s final composition is so unique and unlike anything that came before it.
what a true gift to share in this.

⟡ if you want to explore sonic meditation in a creative and experimental way, i have a couple spots left in my november groups. link in bio to join. by @frequencywithkimi

✦ so grateful for this very magical, intense incubator of breath and trust. this weekend was such a vibe.

as a teacher it is so satisfying to watch your students not only grasp the concept but transform it into an art form and energy of their own.

this group had @kowalski.3000 & me with our jaws to the ground, they were immediately so confident and unique in their approach to facilitation and breath.

can’t wait to see where they go next.

THREE GONG BATH
with Kimi Recor
Before stepping onto the dance floor, take a moment to arrive.
Join Berlin-based sound artist and composer Kimi Recor for a deeply immersive gong bath—an exploration of resonance, overtones, vibration, and deep listening.
Using three handcrafted gongs, analog synthesizers, and the human voice, Kimi creates an environment that gently settles the nervous system, sharpens perception, and opens the senses. A somatic reset before a long night of music and movement, inviting the body to soften, release, and reconnect. by @frequencywithkimi

We have been friends for some time, but last year we brought our practices together and built something we call “The Portal”. @the_____portal

The Portal is a sound-led project and every Portal moves from tension to release, from harmony to dissonance, from earth to the Akasha and vice versa. We play intuitively and live, drawing from years of experience in music while tuning completely into each other.

The fifth portal was opened at Atemporal Projects, a beautiful listening space in the heart of Friedrichshain.

Thank you for hosting us.

the other day someone asked me what my biggest musical influence was

of course a thousand names came to mind

but when i sat with it a bit longer
i kept coming back to something very simple

pauline oliveros
and the idea of deep listening

as a musician and artist
a lot of what gets framed as “success”

is reduced to numbers

numbers that are defined and fed back to us
by systems that don’t actually care about the work itself

i’ve watched a lot of my friends
slowly become content creators

following very specific rules
around releasing
around visibility
around how to exist online

and i know pretty clearly
that this isn’t what i want to contribute to

not in my art
not in my work as an educator
not in the spaces i hold

what i’m interested in, more than anything
is listening

and listening is not something
that comes easily to me

my brain already has
ten thousand responses
to a question that hasn’t even been asked yet

so this is a real practice for me

but it has changed me

my relationship to my work
and to the world i move through

so this is my small reflection on deep listening

if this resonates
i really recommend spending time with oliveros’ work

i mostly play the gong for myself these days ✦ it’s a practice i cherish, especially playing with flumies. i love discovering the sonic boundaries of the gong.

when i play for myself i’m not tuned into anything but me and the gong. when i play for people, i tune into the room. i listen to how the gong plays with the energy of the room. i try to tune into needs and other people’s boundaries.

but when i play alone i get to truly play, to experiment. the gong gets to be a wild thing, a free creature ⟡ what a blessing it is to play.

also @blovesacredsound flumies are truly worth the money. i’ve had mine for years and they haven’t dried out or stopped working, unlike many others i’ve tried.

how do you play? ✦ by @frequencywithkimi

from the moment i took my first breathwork class, my life changed. i was in my body. i was opening doors to my inner world i didn’t even know existed.

i immediately wanted to share this with my friends. at the time i had no aspirations of teaching at studios or becoming a facilitator, i just wanted to give the people i loved this thing that had cracked something open in me.

that’s still where it comes from, even now.

this fall i’m running my Breathwork Facilitator Training again ✦ science-based, trauma-informed, and built for anyone who feels that same pull, whether you have credentials or just a calling.
