Karena itu, simbol ini kerap terlihat dalam aksi demonstrasi mahasiswa.
Aksi simbolis tersebut turut menjadi bagian dari seruan moral gereja-gereja di bawah naungan Persekutuan Gereja-Gereja di Indonesia (PGI).
