Being discharged by the person you later build a program with says something about how those decisions actually get made. A discharge is usually about what the program could hold that week, not about who the person was going to become.

Italian prosecutors have opened a formal investigation into multiple senior Israeli officials, including minister of war Israel Katz, minister of police Itamar Ben Gvir, and IOF chief of staff Eyal Zamir. The formal investigation will examine the suspected torture, kidnapping, bodily injury, and theft committed against Italian members of the Global Summed Flotilla that sailed to Gaza in 2025 and 2026 in an attempt to break Israel’s siege and deliver lifesaving aid and medicine to Palestinians there. The investigation was opened after complaints were submitted by 50 Italian citizens detained during their participation in the aid missions. Since the first freedom flotilla sailed to Gaza in 2024, Israel has routinely abducted, detained, and tortured hundreds of EU, US, and Canadian citizens aboard legally chartered vessels that were sailing through international waters. The Italian investigation follows the opening of an investigation by French prosecutors earlier this year, and is part of the increasing global scrutiny of Israel’s treatment of flotilla members. From Italy to France to North America, our movement must ensure these investigations remain open and that they result in material consequences for the Zionist occupation, including formal sanctions against Zionist officials.
