You know that thing we say.. “I’ll do it when they’re a bit older.”

I’ve said it and I hear other mums say it all the time too. And sometimes, fair enough. There are seasons of motherhood where you simply don’t have the capacity for certain things.

But then I started thinking, how old exactly do they need to be? Because somehow “when they’re older” keeps moving. First it’s when they start school. Then when the younger one starts school. Then when they can do more for themselves. Meanwhile, years are actually passing.

And yes, they’re older. But so are we.( laughs in back pain 😂)

And no, I’m not saying everybody should now start rushing to do all the things because our children are growing. Some things genuinely have to wait.

I just think there’s a difference between choosing to wait because this season needs it and automatically putting everything that matters to you in the later pile because you’re a mum.

Maybe we don’t need to do everything now.
But maybe everything doesn’t have to wait either.
