Uzak Şehir (The Distant City) is a Turkish drama series that tells a powerful story of love, family, secrets, and revenge. The story follows Alya, a young woman who travels to the city of Mardin with her son after the sudden death of her husband. She goes there to fulfill her husband's final wish, but instead of finding peace, she becomes trapped in a world full of family traditions, conflicts, and hidden secrets.

Alya finds herself connected to the Albora family, one of the most powerful families in the region. She struggles to protect herself and her son while facing Cihan Albora, the head of the family. Cihan is a strong and serious man who carries many responsibilities and protects his family at all costs. Although Alya and Cihan come from completely different worlds and initially have a difficult relationship, their lives slowly become deeply connected.

As the story continues, their relationship develops through misunderstandings, emotional conflicts, sacrifice, and unexpected feelings. At the same time, the series explores the complicated relationships within the Albora family, including old rivalries, secrets, betrayal, and struggles for power.

Ping me if you find all my fingers😘tyty

I was not going to share about this, but it’s a reminder to all of us: advocate for your health and get checked. Ask to be on the cancellation list (I got in earlier than expected!) and remember that especially as women, we deal with things that deserve our attention and it is not normal to ‘push through’ exhaustion or discomfort. Even though we are busy and have kids and a huge mental load and a million things to do all the time.

I went for minor surgery yesterday for an issue I’d been having for a long time. Thank goodness I am fine, really, not a progressive or life-threatening thing but I had to advocate for this, and in our ‘free’ healthcare system, I waited almost 6 months for a day procedure that I should have gotten right away. I am SO appreciative to the care team at Sunnybrook who was nothing short of amazing, and I am also saddened about the state of our healthcare system, which is so stressed. I had an issue that caused me daily challenges I had to wait months for, because there was only minimal OR time allocated to this ‘non life threatening issue’ per month. Many, many women I know deal with the same thing and it’s super frustrating to have to wait.

Anyway I’m grateful to be over this hump and I’m hoping my message resonates with anyone who sees this to remember that all the money in the world will not buy you your health, so please advocate for yourself and as always, take good care 🤍🤍🤍
