A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and so it was when my community began to take on a different outlook following the demolition activities and massive road transformation in 2025.

I had mixed feelings about the road construction, mindful of the satellite town and its inhabitants whose livelihoods were disrupted in the process of development in the Gishiri Community.

Today, however, my community has taken on a new outlook, with bustling activities, emerging hubs, and businesses creating opportunities for young entrepreneurs to leverage the newly constructed road network to provide essential goods and services to residents.

This transformation is a testament to the impact that infrastructure development can have on communities, livelihoods, and local economic opportunities.

I am grateful to witness this change and the new possibilities it continues to create for young people and residents of Gishiri Community, courtesy of the developmental agenda of the FCT Development Authority, the Honourable Minister of the FCT, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

From disruption to transformation, every road can become a pathway to opportunity.
