Imagine spending 30 days living high in the Italian Alps, surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery, while contributing to scientific research. 🇮🇹🏔️ A unique research program is seeking volunteers to spend a month at an altitude of over 2,000 meters, where scientists will study how the human body adapts to high-altitude environments. Selected participants would be able to work remotely while taking part in the study, combining everyday life with an extraordinary mountain experience. The opportunity has been described as an all-expenses-paid stay, although current availability, eligibility, and covered expenses have not been independently confirmed. A month in the Italian Alps, surrounded by nature, while helping advance science. 🔬
International France The situation in France is spiraling out of control as protests and riots continued on Saturday, October 17. The Limoges Town Hall, built in 1883, was set on fire, resulting in the collapse of the bell tower and almost total destruction of the building. At least 1,200 people were arrested, and around 150 police officers and gendarmes were injured. People vandalized, looted, and set fire to numerous businesses. The protests began by students to highlight teacher shortages, crumbling school buildings, poor ventilation, underfunded and overcrowded schools, stressful timetables, and later snowballed into a nationwide crisis and expanded, as broader groups joined to protest soaring prices for gas, energy, and food prices. Since the beginning of protests in France around mid-September, around 8,000 people have been arrested, mostly students, and over 900 police officers and gendarmes have been injured.
