Some things never change. Still your biggest fan. 🥹🫶🏼 Love you @witneycarson I am BEYOND inspired by you. You are the most beautiful example of everything I hope to become. Getting to share the ballroom floor with you this season has been such a full-circle moment and a dream come true. SO grateful for you and the part you’ve played in my dreams. Love you endlessly! 🫶🏼

On October 17th, we showed the mansion owning elites who Vancouver truly belongs to. This city belongs to the workers who have built it brick by brick, to the seniors who have watched their neighbourhoods grow over decades, and to the student renters struggling to afford to stay. This movement has proven that no matter how much money and institutional power the rich have, they cannot defeat the united power of the people. I am honoured to have been elected as Vancouver’s youngest ever city councillor, at just 21, and Vancouver’s first openly nonbinary city councillor. I am so excited to serve this city alongside my amazing friends @seanorrofficial @intheknow_withchlo and @kumari_devyani on council. and I am so excited to work with our progressive friends from @vancouvergreens and @onecityvancouver especially the amazing Mayor-elect @ptfry Thank you to everyone who ran for taking part in our city’s democracy and motivating people to come out for record breaking early voting turnout. And congratulations to everyone who won, across all 3 boards. We are going to do great work together. Our movement has shown what it means for socialism and people power to win, now we need to show what it means for socialism and people power to govern. We are going to get straight to work to build affordable housing, protect tenants, take on the corporate lobbyists, and stop the AI data centres. Thank you to every one of the over 60,000 voters and to the hundreds of volunteers who made this possible. I am so honoured to have been a part of the movement that we have all built together, and I am so excited to get to work for this city that we all love.
I swear NYC does something to our souls that I can’t even explain. 🥹🗽❤️ We’ve spent a lot of time in the city for work over the last month, and every trip makes us fall a little more in love with it. But I think the biggest thing for me has been seeing just how good it’s been for Kay. With everything she’s been through with her health, watching her wake up every morning excited to get outside, walk around for hours, explore, and actually have the energy to enjoy it all has meant more to me than I can explain. I haven’t seen her this happy and motivated in a long time, and I know being there has helped her just as much mentally as it has physically. And the girls absolutely THRIVE there. 🥹 I’ve never seen Ellie make so many little friends in one afternoon. We’d take them to the playgrounds and she’d immediately run off to play like she’d known these kids forever. She’s asked to go back to the “New York City park” almost every day since we’ve been home. 😂❤️ Watching both girls spend their days outside, making friends, exploring, and just being kids has been one of my favorite parts of these trips. I don’t think we realize how much our environment affects us sometimes. Living in Dallas, where it’s 90+ degrees for so much of the year, makes it hard to enjoy being outside. There are so many days when it’s just too hot to take the girls to the park or even go for a walk. And I really think that starts to affect you mentally after a while. Being in NYC reminded us how good it feels to just get outside and LIVE. But it’s more than just the weather or the parks. There’s something about New York that brings out better versions of both of us. Not different people, just happier, more motivated, more inspired versions of ourselves. We actually want to get up early, go do things, meet people, explore, and make the most of every day. It’s hard to explain, but we both feel it every time we’re there. We’ve traveled to some incredible places, but nowhere has ever made us feel quite like NYC does. And seeing how happy Kay and the girls are there makes me love it even more. We’re already counting down the days until we get back. ❤️
