🍂 Hello September! Here are our top 5 gardening tips for the month ahead…

As summer begins to wind down and autumn approaches, September is a great time to give your garden a little attention and prepare it for the cooler months ahead.

🌱 1. Give your lawn some TLC
After a hot, dry summer, your lawn may be looking a little tired. September is a good time to scarify, aerate, reseed bare patches and give it an autumn feed.

🌿 2. Keep on top of fallen leaves
The first leaves will soon start dropping. Clearing them from lawns and pathways helps keep the garden tidy and prevents them smothering the grass underneath.

✂️ 3. Tidy up plants and borders
Remove dead or damaged growth and tidy beds and borders, but consider leaving some seed heads and suitable areas for wildlife.

🌷 4. Start thinking about spring
It might feel early, but now is a great time to start planting many spring-flowering bulbs ready for a colourful display next year.

🏡 5. Check your fencing
Autumn and winter weather will soon be on its way. Check for loose panels, damaged posts or areas of fencing that need attention before stronger winds arrive.

A little September garden maintenance can make a big difference over the months ahead.

And if your autumn jobs turn into a slightly bigger garden project, TEK Fencing & Landscaping is here to help. 🌿
