Going through my archives to see what I want to test out for my holiday tables and this German dish might make the cut. It’s called Heaven and Earth and it’s this gorgeous balance of sweet and savory. Only 3 main ingredients and it’s incredible what you can turn them into. This one is a contender for sure #cooking #dinner #eating
En dat is precies wat niemand me had verteld. Iedereen ging ervan uit dat ik zou rouwen zoals het hoort. Verdrietig zijn. Huilen. Praten. Verwerken. Netjes, stap voor stap. En hop weer door. Maar mijn lijf had zijn eigen agenda. Mijn nek zat op slot. Mijn schouders hingen als beton om m’n oren. M’n rug gaf het op. Ik werd ‘s ochtends wakker en was al moe voordat de dag begon. ‘s Nachts lag ik met een malend hoofd terwijl mijn lichaam zwaar in het matras zakte, alsof ik door de grond wilde verdwijnen. En ondertussen lag daar een baby in mijn armen die alles van me nodig had. De schuld daarover vrat aan me. Hoe kon ik er zijn voor hem, terwijl ik zelf nergens meer was? Dus deed ik alles wat je hoort te doen. Ik praatte. Ik las over rouw. Ging van psycholoog naar psycholoog. Mijn hoofd snapte het volledig en had het verwerkt. En toch bleef mijn lijf hangen en groeide niet mee. Daar zat jarenlang mijn grootste blinde vlek: je kunt iets tot in de puntjes begrijpen en tegelijk voelen dat je lichaam er nog steeds in vastzit. Praten alleen maakt het niet af. Je lijf verstaat namelijk geen woorden. Het verdriet. De machteloosheid. De boosheid die ik jaren had ingeslikt. De grens die ik was vergeten te stellen. Het zat allemaal ergens in mijn lijf geparkeerd. En het bleef daar zitten tot ik het eindelijk mijn lichaam liet vertellen, in plaats van het weg te analyseren. Daar is uiteindelijk mijn hele werk uit ontstaan. Niet mezelf fixen. Mijn lijf leren verstaan. Benieuwd wat jouw lichaam al die tijd probeert te zeggen? Im still human, i still enjoy my down time. I love my cigars, black coffee and whiskey. • Doesn’t mean I do them on the regular. Haven’t had a whiskey in 4 months, I have 2 esspressos a day and these cigars im smoking, weren’t burning as I forgot to smoke them in time from buying them. • But I love it, like I love being a pro bodybuilder with the spices supps I use. • Life is good, in moderation.
