We’d like to clarify some additional details about Kelly Clarkson’s visit to our Curiosity Shop on Saturday. During the 5 minutes she spent in the store, she inquired about our mechanical bird puppet named Molly. We explained that while Molly is permanently attached to the wall and serves as a de facto mascot for our shop, a nearly identical automaton is owned by the creator of the machines, a brilliant artist named Bliss Kolb who lives in Seattle. He told us he would be willing to part with Molly’s twin for $15,000. We explained all of this to Kelly Clarkson. We also offered to show her a different singing bird automaton, made by a traditional clockmaking shop in Germany, that she could have taken home with her that day. It costs about $2,000. She did not stick around long enough to see it. We’ve reached out to Kelly directly to try and clear the air. We really do wish her the best and hope that someday we can all laugh about this misunderstanding.
HOW MANY FOLLOWERS DO YOU HAVE? Haha, I’m being cheeky. Is Bondi the social media capital of Australia? Feels like it. 25 years ago, people thought I was weird taking photos of everyday beach life. Now EVERYONE is making content. Volleyballers with multi-camera setups. Tourists with selfie sticks. Icebergs has become selfie central. GoPros in mouths, phones propped up in the sand and apparently it’s illegal to have an ice bath without filming it. Don’t get me wrong, I document everything too. Just not myself. Not wired that way. My Gen XYZ staff reckon I should share more of the madness I witness daily. With tourist season kicking off, there’s plenty of material! ☀️ 31 degrees today. Silly season is here. Rain tomorrow and a big cool-down coming. 🌊 Waves are on holidays. Just 1–2 foot today. Big, messy surf returning midweek. 👕 NEW TEE ALERT! We launched our limited-edition SLOTTED tee over the weekend, featuring artwork from my old mate Jeremyville (ex-Bondi, now NYC). Already shipping to Germany, USA and UK! Comment “SLOTTED” below and I’ll DM you the link to grab one. :: Uge

#MeekMill says he just needs 45 days of promo to sell out the Barclays or Madison square garden. #Socialites do you agree? 👀👇🏽📷: Getty images
