#ChristaPike is making major progress in her recovery weeks after surviving a botched execution in Tennessee.

According to TMZ, an attorney for Pike, who was sentenced to de@th for the brutal 1995 murder of her classmate #ColleenSlemmer, says she’s now walking more independently and speaking in full sentences. While her physical condition continues to improve, doctors are still monitoring her cognitive and psychological health, with her attorney warning it could take another month or longer to determine whether she suffered any permanent damage.

ICYMI: Pike was scheduled to be executed on September 30 but survived two doses of lethal injection dr*gs. She was initially left unconscious and unable to communicate before eventually regaining consciousness. Although she later began speaking and taking a few steps, her attorneys previously reported that she was dealing with confusion, memory problems and serious physical injuries. Her recovery comes amid several allegations about the failed execution, including 911 dispatch recordings showing it took 31 minutes for prison officials to confirm an emergency medical request was legitimate due to confusion between prison staff and first responders.

Pike has since been discharged from the hospital and returned to prison, where she continues receiving medical care. Meanwhile, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has paused executions pending an independent investigation into what went wrong.
