The Academy of Opera, KHiO, had the great pleasure of welcoming Dominic Wheeler, Head of Opera Studies at Guildhall School of Music & Drama and Artistic Director of Opera Makers in London.
Opera Makers brings together Guildhall’s opera and composer students in collaboration with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, creating a unique platform for developing and bringing new opera to life.
It was especially inspiring to discover how much this model resonates with the collaboration we have here at the Academy of Opera, KHiO, with the Norwegian Academy of Music (NMH) and the Oslo Philharmonic – bringing young singers, composers and musicians together around the creation and performance of new classical vocal music.
Many inspiring conversations and new perspectives. Great to exchange ideas about how we can create the best possible environments for creating new classical vocal pieces and operas together with young students. @oslooperaacademy @musikkhogskolen @henrik.hellstenius @opera
