Leadville 2026: Just over a week removed from a bucket list race. Changes to the course this year took a mountain bike race already on the fringe of being a gravel race to a gravel race on the fringe of being a road race. I feel a bit cheated on the race credibility with a decrease in times for big and small buckle finishes given the circumstances but still feel accomplished completing 2 out of 3 of my race goals. 1: finish, 2 big buckle, 3, don’t walk Columbine. 1 & 2 achieved in this years interaction. 3 didn’t happen. Traffic up Columbine with the pro field flying back at you is not a place you want to pass! So much was learned and time left on the track for a revisit.
