This man is an absolute inspiration.
At 52 years old, Ian got into the best shape of his life.
He dropped over 10kg, got genuinely shredded and stepped in front of the camera for his first ever FitLab photoshoot.
But the physique almost feels secondary when you know what he went through to get there.
Before FitLab, Ian had tried working with a PT, but the experience had left him frustrated. Inconsistency, cancelled sessions and ultimately never seeing what he was truly capable of.
He joined us wanting to finally change that.
Then, just weeks into his journey, Ian received news nobody ever wants to hear.
He had cancer.
At one of the lowest and most uncertain points of his life, nobody would have blamed him for putting his fitness completely on hold.
Instead, Ian kept going.
He listened to every podcast we released.
He got his steps in.
He followed his nutrition.
He trained when he could.
And he used the process as something positive to focus on while going through an incredibly difficult period of his life.
Ian told me himself that the plan became the distraction he needed.
Week by week, he got physically stronger, mentally stronger and started feeling like himself again.
And when he came out the other side?
He didn’t just settle for being healthier.
He decided to push himself even further and see what he was truly capable of.
Over 10kg down.
52 years old.
Shredded abs.
The shape of his life.
And standing in front of the camera at our FitLab photoshoot documenting everything he’d overcome.
There genuinely aren’t many men like Ian.
You can have the perfect training plan and the perfect diet, but Ian is proof that your attitude towards the cards you’re dealt matters just as much.
When life gave him every reason to stop, he kept moving forward.
No excuses. No feeling sorry for himself. Just controlling what he could control every single day.
A massive shoutout to
@coach_alex_castro who has coached Ian throughout this journey and supported him through far more than just getting into shape
What an incredible result to achieve together. 👏
Ian, what you’ve achieved goes so far beyond a before and after photo.
You’re an absolute warrior🙏
