When good clothes become “waste”

Most clothes don’t become unwanted because they’re worn out. They become unwanted because the person holding them no longer has a use for them.

Dress for Success Glasgow receives mountains of generous clothing donations. Every bag is sorted and quality-checked, with suitable pieces used to help women dress for interviews and work. But some items aren’t work-appropriate, some are menswear, and some simply don’t have a place in the work of the charity.

They’re still good clothes. And throwing them away feels absurd when so many people across Glasgow could use them.
