$Let me set the scene. 🎬 After almost a MONTH of going back and forth about whether I should run the Chicago Marathon with a stress fracture, I finally decided to pull out. Except… I still showed up. Apparently, I enjoy making things unnecessarily complicated. Friday night: Drank an incredibly irresponsible amount of wine. Saturday daytime: Decided Diet Coke was an acceptable hydration strategy. Saturday, 5 PM: The FOMO is getting REAL. Head to Walgreens for arthritis cream and actual electrolytes. Saturday, 6 PM: @lafleetwood gets into town. I tell her I’m at least going to start. We gather all the gel/hydration that I can find. Saturday, 7 PM: Have Finn’s friend @styled.by.hannah12 braid my hair. Find my running glasses in Finn’s softball bag. They’re broken. 🫠 Saturday after the baseball game: Finally tell Colin my plan. (I’d been waiting to see if Cleveland won because I needed him in a good mood. 😂 He was VERY supportive of me bailing.) Sunday morning: Arrive in the city. Realize my fully packed running vest is sitting at home. 😭 Thankfully, my friend has an extra because apparently, this weekend needed one more plot twist. The actual marathon: I started. I got to be there with my best friend. And when it was time to listen to my body and pull out, I did. As much as it sucked not to finish, I’m glad I started because I got those miles and those memories with my bestie. And I’m even more glad I knew when to call it. A stress fracture is not something I’m willing to turn into a full-blown break just for a medal. (Look at me being a responsible adult. Who even am I?) Anyway, don’t worry. I’ve already searched spring marathons. 💀🏃🏼‍♀️ #marathonjourney #runningproblems #chicagomarathon #averagerunner #momswhorun$

Nothing beats Champions League nights. A big victory at a tough ground. 💙❤️

Darius Acuff Jr. & Yaxel Lendeborg went bucket for bucket all night 🔥👀

Can’t wait to watch these two this season 🙌
